Oh little Cinnamon Bun, you make me feel all warm and cuddly inside! One whiff of that sweet spice and I feel like I'm snuggled up in front of a fire, sipping hot chocolate and listening to non-denominational holiday songs! So much awesome from such a deceptively simple mix of flour, sugar, and butter (a lot of butter)!
We take the Cinnamon Bun's pastry perfection for granted, but it took thousands of years to figure out which spice works best for breakfast! Paprika Buns? Nahhh. Mustard Buns? Hmmm. Garlic Pepper Buns? Cilantro Buns? Nutmeg Buns?...well that actually sounds delicious, but no! Thanks to long hours of experimentation, culinary scientists in kitchens of yore finally discovered cinnamon, that most friendly of all spices, and the rest is history.
Thanks to them the Cinnamon Bun is the peak of decadent gooey greatness! Nevermore shall we have to settle for inferior bun/spice combinations! Thank you, intrepid innovators of food science!
